The New Year celebrated in the Western world is governed by the Gregorian calendar, with 1 January being the first day of the year.

In various religions and cultures, it is celebrated with different calendars and ceremonial traditions, in different months of the year.

New Year is celebrated by many people all over the world the world.

This festivity is celebrated with family members at home or at parties.

How it is celebrated?  

Many traditions were celebrated by Panamanians in the New Year, last year for example:

• Toast with a glass of champagne or wine and New Year’s dinner
• New clothes and clothing
• Do a deep cleaning in the home, to ward off bad energies and negativity.
• Eat 12 grapes and make a wish for each of them.
• Burning the old year doll or throwing fireworks.

• Taking them to eat.
• Conducting family coexistence events.
